Royal Navy and Royal Marine Cycling Association 'The Guide Book'

 

Title

 

1. The title of the Association shall be the Royal Navy and Royal Marine Cycling Association. (RNRMCA)

 

Objectives

 

2. The objectives of the RNRMCA shall be:

 

a.

To encourage cycling in all ships and establishments of the Royal Navy at home and abroad, and to advise and assist on all aspects of cycling

b.

To encourage a higher standard of cycling in the Royal Navy by providing Commanding Officers, Sports Officers and PT Staff with all the specialised information necessary to promote cycling.

c.

To promote amateur cycling races amongst all ranks and encourage RNRMCA members to compete in local, national and Inter Service competitions.

d.

To arrange Royal Navy Championships.

e.

To ensure the correct conduct of all cycle races organised by the Royal Navy.

f.

To liaise with the Army Cycling Union and Royal Air Force Cycling Association on all matters of common interest concerning cycling.

 

 

The Committee

 

3. The management of the Association shall be conducted by an Executive Committee, who shall meet on a regular basis and consisting of the following:

 

President

Chairman

General Secretary

Treasurer

Road Racing Secretary

MTB Racing Secretary

Equipment Manager

Membership Secretary

 

4. The Officers of the RNRMCA shall be elected at the Annual General Meeting. Vacancies occurring subsequent to the AGM shall be filled by nominees of the Executive Committee.

 

Membership

 

5. There are 2 types of active membership, Full and Club. Life Membership is given to those members who have been recognized by the club for providing outstanding service to the club, usually over a number of years.

 

Full Membership – is open to all ranks of the RN & RM, all ex-servicemen of the RN, RM & members of the RNR and RMR.

 

Club Membership - is open to MOD employees and civilians.

 

Membership Entitlements

 

6. Full – Members will be entitled to the following:

 

a.

Refund of entry fees for approved Inter Service Races

b.

A percentage of the cost of their BCF Racing Licence (agreed at the AGM)

c.

A 40% discount of the full cost of Club Clothing

d.

Able to enter RTTC events as an RNRMCA member

e.

Able to enter BCF races as an RNRMCA member (licence required)

f.

Able to ride AUDAX UK events

g.

Refund of travel expenses to races approved by ADNPTS (subject to local budget holders discretion)

h

Able to attend annual overseas training camp (when organised)

i

Able to vote on proposals at the clubs AGM

 

Club – Members will be entitled to the following:

 

a.

Club clothing at cost

b.

Able to enter RTTC events as an RNRMCA member

c.

Able to enter BCF races as an RNRMCA member (licence required)

d.

Able to ride AUDAX UK events

e.

Able to compete at NAVY championships.

 

Membership Fees

 

7. There are two membership options:-

a. One years membership. Fee £10.00

b. Three Years Membership. Fee £30.00 (this option also entitles the member to permanent loan of a club shirt)

Both options will run consecutively from the month joined. The Membership Secretary will maintain a database of members informing them when their membership is due for renewal.

 

Club Funds

 

 8. The elected Treasurer shall administer the clubs funds. The treasurer should (when possible) be a serving Royal Navy or Royal Marine Officer. The clubs funds will be subject to a full audit at least once a year, with the results of the audit forwarded to the Chairman, General Secretary and ADNPTS.  The clubs funds are provided from the following:

Annual Sports Equipment Grant

Annual Coaching Grant

d.

Annual Sports Lottery Grant

 

Equipment

 

9. The Equipment Manager shall be the custodian for all equipment held by the Association. Club clothing and small items of equipment are available from the Equipment Manager with a discount.

 

10. Equipment owned by the RNRMCA is available for use to Full members, this includes race quality wheels. When a piece of RNRMCA equipment is in the charge of a member it is his/her responsibility to ensure the safekeeping of it. Should any damage occur to any RNRMCA equipment, then the member will be liable for any costs incurred in the repair or replacement of the item. RNRMCA equipment taken on charge by a member is done so with the knowledge that the club will not accept any liability for any injury to the member that may occur whilst using RNRMCA equipment.

 

Promulgation of Information

 

11. The club will contact members routinely via e mail. These e mail updates will inform members of forthcoming events and highlight when new information is available on the club website. Any member not wishing to receive these updates can remove their names from the mailing list by contacting the Membership Secretary.

 

12. The club website will provide easy access to all club members (wherever they may be serving) who have access to the Internet. The website will aim to provide up to date information of all club activities and forthcoming events. All information placed on the website shall be at the discretion of the General Secretary, and will be updated as regularly as possible. Members who wish to have information placed on the website should forward the information to both the General Secretary and the Membership Secretary (preferably via email).
